When the Picnic team asked us to design their brand identity we were immediately compelled by their thoughtful concept, vision, beautiful space in downtown Leland, and of course–and perhaps most obviously–the allure of ice cream. Fun fact: the logo is simultaneously a picnic basket as well as a cup and spoon! It also visually references the dunes sliding into Lake Michigan.

Picnic offers grab and go goodies for those looking to plan the perfect edible outdoor adventure, but it’s more than just a local hotspot for sandwiches, salads, candy, ice cream, and fudge. It’s an environment that feels like and old friend to everyone who walks in the door – warm, welcoming, and familiar. Inspired by co-owner Ben Maier’s childhood spent picnicking with his family along the shores of Lake Michigan, the shop serves as a source of lasting memories, joyful experiences, and of course, happy customers, encouraging tourists and locals alike to create their own special picnics for generations to come.
