Visible white spaces can sometimes appear between adjacent colors in print due to misregistration. Closing those gaps and achieving a seamless visual experience requires careful, intentional calibration — a method known as trapping. At Trap—Studio, our approach is similar. We work with both local and national clients to find perfect alignment through remarkable creative solutions.

Our Services

Trap—Studio is an independent creative studio working from Traverse City, Michigan. Our clients know us for a variety of visual services but at the core, our offerings center on aesthetic practices like design and photography.

Branding & Identity

We love building brands. We start with a logo design before moving into identity development (think carefully selected typefaces, color palettes, and real world applications like business cards and tote bags) to help our clients tell their unique stories and differentiate their brands within competitive markets.

Graphic Design & Packaging

From layout and signage, to packaging and environmental design, we are well equipped to meet nearly any print or digital design need. We’ve created everything from book covers to icons and once even hand-stamped a custom wallpaper!

Specializing in lifestyle and studio shots with an emphasis on architecture, art, and food photography (and an occasionally a corporate headshot or two), we handle all aspects of a photoshoot from styling to post-production editing.

Web Design

Whether it be front end design in conjunction with a developer, or creating a CMS-based site, we are adept at enabling clients to digitally launch their brands. Associated website services include asset creation, SEO, email list linking, e-commerce, simple HTML and CSS code injections, hosting, Google Analytics set up and integration, and DNS name server connection.
